Mauricio and Lydia Morin appeal an order of the county court at law dismissing their appeal. We reverse and remand.

A. Background

Bob Boecker filed a forcible entry and detainer suit against the Morins in a justice of the peace court. The justice court awarded possession to Boecker, and the Morins subsequently appealed to the coun ty court at law. On June 21, 2001, the clerk of the county court mailed a notice to the Morins, stating that they were required to pay $160 in court costs within twenty days to perfect their appeal. See Tex.R. Civ.
