W. H. Mitchell & Company brought suit against the Atlantic Coast Line Eailroad Company, alleging damage to a car of turnips shipped by the plaintiffs over the defendant’s line of railway under a bill of lading issued by the defendant as the original carrier, from Thomasville, Georgia, to New York. The damage was alleged to have been caused by the negligent failure to transiiort and deliver the turnips to the consignee within a reasonable time.
