This is an appeal from the judgment entered upon a jury verdict for plaintiffs in an action for the wrongful death of their son.

The evidence shows that on March 31, 1955, respondents’ 8-year-old son, Gary, with two companions went to an area known as “Bilger Quarry” near his home. Bilger Quarry had been operated in the past as a rock quarry and after the property was acquired by appellant in the 1930’s, the quarrying operations ceased.
