ORDER ON MOTION FOR FINAL APPROVAL OF CLASS SETTLEMENT
HORNBY, District Judge.
This is a class action lawsuit over arres-tee strip searches at the York County Jail. On August 1, 2005, I held a final fairness hearing on a proposed settlement of the lawsuit. I now approve the notice sent to the class. I also approve the fairness, reasonableness and adequacy of the settlement in all respects but one: I cannot endorse a local government paying twice as much to women as to men, because the difference in treatment does not pass constitutional muster.
