SHEPARD, Chief Justice.

After a trial by jury, Danny Cook was convicted of murder, a felony, Ind.Code § 85-42-1-1 (Burns 1985 Repl). He was sentenced to forty years in prison.

Cook raises nine issues on direct appeal:
