The appellees-appellants/appellees-appel-lees Board of Trustees of the Employees’ Retirement System (ERS) of the State of Hawai'i [hereinafter, “the Board”] and the ERS [collectively hereinafter, “the ERS”] appeal from the October 18, 2000 order of the circuit court of the first circuit, the Honorable Eden E.
