The plaintiff brought, suit to recover the face value of the following promissory note:

$2,500. Fort Valley, Ga., December 28, 1883.

On the first day of December, 1888, I promise to pay to J. K. O. Sherwood, or order, at the office of the Corbin Banking Company, New York city, twenty-five hundred dollars, with interest from this date at the rate of 8 per cent, per annum, payable annually, as per five interest notes hereto attached, value *114received; and I hereby waive and renounce my right to the benefit of the exemption provided for by the constitution and laws of Georgia in all property I now…
