For seven years, Cris Bookout thought he had a deal to purchase the Bookout Chiropractic Center (Clinic) for which Cris was the sole practicing chiropractor. In 1994, a document styled “Contract for Deed” had been created — -but never signed — detailing terms of what might become Cris’ purchase from his brother, Danford Bookout (Dan), and Dan’s wife, Phyllis, of real and personal property constituting the Clinic. Between July 1994 and August 2001, Cris had arranged for payments totaling $3,000.00 per month— the amount specified in the unsigned “Contract”…
