POOLER, Circuit Judge.

Appellant Building Service 32B-J Pension Fund (“the Fund”) is a multi-employer pension trust fund within the coverage of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (“ERISA”), 29 U.S.C. §§ 1001-1461, whose participating members work in the building services industry (“the industry”) in and around New York City. Appellee Alfred Veltri entered covered employment in April 1957. Until December 1969 Veltri worked as an elevator operator and doorman.
