WELLFORD, Circuit Judge.

Plaintiff, Friendly Farms, Inc. (“Friendly Farms”), is a farming operation located on 371 acres in Harrison County, Ohio. In 1982, Russell Merrin was hired to live on and manage the farm. In 1985, the Lewis Beck-man Company (“LBC”) involuntarily acquired ownership of Friendly Farms as the result of a foreclosure proceeding. LBC retained the services of Merrin, but did not execute a written employment…
