This action was brought by the State of Indiana on the relation of the auditor of state against the Continental Insurance Company of New York to recover taxes alleged to be due and unpaid for the years from 1876 to 1911, inclusive.
In the first paragraph of complaint it is alleged that the Continental Insurance Company of New York is a foreign fire insurance company organized under the laws of the State of New York; that during said period of time it was engaged in the business of writing fire insurance, collecting premiums, and paying losses within the State of Indiana; that it was the duty…
