Douglas Ray Stevens appeals his conviction for possession of a firearm as a felon, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1). We vacate and remand.

In late 1992, Douglas Ray Stevens, then known as Douglas Ray Williams, was under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety for illegal gaming operations. As part of this investigation, law enforcement officers obtained a warrant authorizing them to search Stevens’ home for evidence of bookmaking.
