I. INTRODUCTION

Curtis Retí (“Retí”) and his mother, Donna Nickerson-Reti (“Nickerson-Reti”) (collectively, the “Retís”), brought this suit against the Lexington Public Schools (“Lexington”), the Minuteman Regional Career and Technical High School (“Minuteman”), the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (the “Department”), and a number of individual employees of the schools in their individual and official capacities (the “Employees”).
