Oscar Burton Holmquist, Jr. and his wife, Beulah Dee Holmquist (“the parents” or appellants) brought suit against Occidental Life Insurance Company of California (Occidental) to recover the proceeds of a policy insuring the life of their son Ralph Burton Holmquist.
