A jury found the defendant, Lamont Fields, guilty of two counts of kidnapping in the second degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-94, one count of assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-59 (a) (1), and one count of risk of injury to a child in violation of General Statutes § 53-21 (a) (1). The trial court rendered judgment in accordance with the jury verdict and sentenced the defendant to a total effective sentence of fifty-three years imprison ment.
