This appeal involves an alleged breach of employment contract claim by the appellee, Lowell Satterfield, against the officials of United Mine Workers of America District No. 31. Satterfield alleges that the union wrongfully laid him off from his position as assistant compensation director twice during his tenure as an elected official of the district union. Following a jury trial, the appellee was awarded $50,000.00.
