OPINION

TOUSSAINT, Chief Judge.

Appellant Mirab Y. Bakken, f/k/a Mirab Y. Helgeson, challenges the district court’s dismissal of her lien-foreclosure action on statute-of-limitations grounds. Because we conclude that the district court did not apply the correct statute of limitations, we reverse and remand.

FACTS

Appellant and her former husband, Olaf Helgeson, now deceased, owned as tenants in common with Walter Holcomb their homestead on Rural Route 1, Pinewood, Minnesota (the property). A June 15, 1983 judgment dissolved the marriage. It provided in relevant part that appellant would…
