The plaintiff, the debtor’s estranged wife, seeks a determination by this court that the distributive award afforded her pursuant to New York Domestic Relations Law § 236[B] is nondischargeable in compliance with 11 U.S.C. § 523(a)(5). The debtor argues that this distributive award is not in the nature of alimony, maintenance or support, but is actually a property settlement which is dischargeable under 11 U.S.C. § 523(a).
