Plaintiffs appeal as of right from the judgment entered in their favor following a jury trial and from the order awarding defendant mediation sanctions. We affirm in part, reverse in part, and remand.

Plaintiff Douglas J. Joerger (hereinafter Joerger) worked as a controller for Schwinn Bicycle Company during 1989 and 1990, and earned an annual salary of $55,000. He also received a benefits package valued at $4,500.
