{¶ 1} This case is before the court on appeal from the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas, which granted summary judgment to appellees, Spartan Stores, Inc. and R&D Investors, Inc. For the reasons that follow, we affirm the decision of the trial court.

{¶ 2} At approximately 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2001, appellant Yvonne Krause was assaulted by an unknown person while she was putting groceries in her car in the parking lot of the Foodtown store located at the corner of Dorr Street and Reynolds Road in Toledo, Ohio.
