MAGNUSON, Chief Justice.

Gabriel Lopez and José Carlos Lopez 1 are brothers who sold methamphetamine to a confidential informant in April 2006. Later that month, the brothers allegedly held the confidential informant and another individual hostage in the Lopez family garage for about 40 minutes until the informant arranged to pay $300 that he owed on the earlier drug transaction.
