In substance, the petition in this case sets out the following state of facts:

On August 28, 1932, Dr. George B. Ber-idon, while driving his automobile into Op-elousas from a southerly direction on the Opelousas-Lafayette paved highway, and in attempting to turn to his left in order to take a left hand road, was struck by a car owned and operated by the defendant James A. Dejean, and as a result of the collision, Lawrence B. Sandoz, a guest in Dejean’s car, was injured and filed a suit against Beridon for damages.
