Thelma P. Bailey, and twelve other persons residing in the Startex Community of Spartanburg County, on the Middle Tyger River, about two miles downstream from the plant of Lyman Printing and Finishing Company, Inc., brought their separate actions against said company for injuries to their persons and property allegedly caused by deleterious gases which arose from the said river and permeated plaintiff’s homes, on or about June 29 and 30 and during several days of early July, all in 1962.
