On November 1, 1919, Pendleton Lodge No. 288, B. P. O. Elks, being a corporation organized under the laws of Oregon and the owner of real estate described in the mortgage hereinafter mentioned, executed and delivered to plaintiff 12 promissory notes, each of which was for the sum of $5,000, with interest at 6 per cent per annum from date until paid, interest to be paid semi-annually, May 1 and November 1.
