Alvin Chow’s experience with negotiating a mortgage loan for a house in Bar-rington, Illinois, through Aegis Mortgage Company and the other defendants was a real estate purchaser’s nightmare. He alleges that, beginning in June 1999, he repeatedly paid various of the defendants thousands of dollars to lock in and secure the necessary loans, and was assured that these monies were refundable or applicable to the loan, but this was not true.
