HASTINGS, Chief Judge.
This action was brought by the United States to condemn defendants’ interests in two so-called “Wherry” 1 housing projects located on the Chanute Air Force Base at Rantoul, Illinois, subject to the interests of the mortgagees. The district court awarded $7,100,000 as just compensation.
