—A jury found Benjamin Barnett guilty of unlawful imprisonment, first degree burglary, second degree rape, second degree malicious mischief, first degree kidnapping, second degree assault, and assault in violation of a protective order, following a vicious attack on his short-term girl friend, Ms. M. The jury also found Mr. Barnett had been armed with a deadly weapon during four of the counts. The court imposed an exceptional sentence *195upward.
