0. S., 3930, is as follows: "Sheriff to execute three bonds. The sheriff shall execute three several bonds, payable to the State of North Carolina, as follows: One conditioned for the collection and settlement of State taxes according to law, a sum not exceeding the amount of the taxes assessed upon the county for State purposes in the previous year.
