John Milton Lord appeals from an order of the district court (Warlick, J.) denying relief after purporting to hold a hearing, at which the prisoner was not present, on his motion under 28 U.S.C. § 2255 to vacate sentence.
Lord was convicted on his plea of guilty in 1957 in the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina on charges of causing forged checks to be transported in interstate commerce in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2314.
