In this adversary proceeding under the umbrella of the chapter 11 cases of Ames Department Stores and affiliates (the “Debtors”), Debtor plaintiff Ames Merchandising Corporation (“Ames”) seeks to avoid and recover as preferential transfers, pursuant to sections 547 and 550 of the Bankruptcy Code (the “Code”), four transfers, made by three checks, to defendant Cellmark Paper, Inc.
