After stopping defendant for numerous motor vehicle violations, a police officer issued defendant three Uniform Traffic Tickets, each of which functioned as both a complaint and summons. The officer fully completed and signed two of the three tickets, but failed to sign the third ticket, which charged defendant with driving while intoxicated (DWI). The municipal court concluded that the absence of the officer’s signature did not warrant dismissal of the DWI charge. The Law Division reversed and the Appellate Division affirmed.
