On the 12th day of June, 1899, Johnerson O. Rombold, plaintiff in the court below, filed his petition in the district court for Douglas county, against the defendant electric light company, alleging, in substance, that on March 22, 1898, he entered the employ of the defendant company as a lineman in the city of Omaha, it being his duty under the direction of the defendant to erect poles and string wires in the streets of said city, and that he continued in such employ up to and including a part of July 1, 1898, or a period of a little more than three months.
