Defendant Steven Daniel Fisher appeals from judgment entered in Harnett County Superior Court upon a plea of guilty to the first-degree murder of .Wanda Renee James.

The State’s evidence tends to establish the following: Defendant first met Wanda Renee James (“James”) in June 1995. Defendant was living in Virginia at the time, while James lived in Erwin, North Carolina.
