The plaintiff, Louise Cole, filed an application for disability-benefits with the defendant, the Retirement Board of the Policemen’s Annuity and Benefit Fund of the City of Chicago (the Board). Following a hearing, the Board denied the plaintiff duty disability benefits but awarded her ordinary benefits. The plaintiff filed a complaint for administrative review. The circuit court reversed the Board’s decision and remanded the case to the Board with instructions to award the plaintiff duty disability benefits at 50% of the plaintiffs…
