The relator presented an affidavit and petition in which he sought to invoke the original jurisdiction of this court and to have us issue an alternative writ of mandamus to compel the Secretary of State and the County Auditor of Cass County to print and deliver to qualified electors absent voters ballots containing the names of candidates for election to the office of United States Senator to fill the vacancy created by the death of the late Honorable John Moses.
