SUTIN, Judge.

{1} Plaintiff Cynthia Herald, M.D., sued the Board of Regents of the University of New Mexico (Defendant) after she was discharged from the residency program at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. She claimed that her termination was driven by discrimination and retaliation in violation of the New Mexico Human Rights Act (the HRA), NMSA 1978, §§ 28-1-1 to -15 (1969, as amended through 2007), and the Whistleblower Protection Act (the WPA), NMSA 1978, §§ 10-16C-1 to -6 (2010).
