Caldwell-Baker Company and affiliates (collectively Caldwell-Baker) leased several hundred railroad cars to Southern Illinois Railcar Company. When the business relation went sour, Caldwell-Baker sued the Railcar Company plus Fred Parsons, its manager and principal investor, for breach of contract and fraud. (For some of the details, see Caldwell-Baker Co. v. Southern Illinois Railcar Co., 225 F.Supp.2d 1243 (D.Kan.2002).)
