In each of these consolidated cases, we *396granted leave to consider whether each defendant, convicted of felonious assault, could, consistent with the principles articulated in People v Robideau, 419 Mich 458; 355 NW2d 592 (1984), also be convicted of both carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. We find that the Legislature intended to authorize such multiple convictions. The Court of Appeals decision as to defendant Sturgis is thereby affirmed.
