It is not the intention of this court to permit petitioners in uncertain and often desperate straits to be taken advantage of by companies whose overreaching make predatory lenders seem almost angelic by comparison.

Prior to the enactment of the Structured Settlement Protection Act, 40 P.S. §4002 et seq., the court was obligated to follow contract law and enforce contracts for the sale of structured settlements without the scrutiny now required by the Act.
