OPINION

SILER, Circuit Judge.

Petitioner-appellant Fugen Gulertekin appeals the district court’s denial of her petition for a writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254. For the following reasons, we affirm the decision of the district court.

BACKGROUND

Gulertekin’s conviction arises from events which occurred on June 12, 1997. Gulertekin, a citizen of Turkey who holds a Master’s Degree from Ohio State University in special education and early childhood education, was caring for Patrick Lape, a five-month-old infant, in her home.
