COX, Judge:

Appellant was tried by special court-martial with officer members. Pursuant to his pleas, he was found guilty of one specification each of unauthorized absence (2 days) and wrongful use of cocaine, in violation of Articles 86 and 112a, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC §§ 886 and 912a, respectively. He was sentenced to a bad-conduct discharge, confinement for 6 months, and reduction to the lowest enlisted pay grade. The convening authority approved the sentence, and the Court of Military Review affirmed in an unpublished opinion. We granted review of the…
