This is an action to recover damages against the defendants as joint tort-feasors because of the publication in the Cedar Rapids Gazette of alleged libelous statements concerning the plaintiff. The Gazette Company is an Iowa corporation with its principal place of business in Cedar Rapids, Linn county, Iowa. Verne Marshall, editor in chief of said newspaper, also resides in Cedar Rapids. The defendants Dodd reside in Belle Plaine, Benton county, Iowa. Charles Dodd, 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dodd, delivered the Gazette to some one thousand customers in Belle Plaine and vicinity…
