McAULIFFE, Judge.

For about two years, respondent, an attorney in Harford County, engaged in a course of professional and private conduct that was inappropriate, rude, vulgar, insulting, occasionally dangerous, and sometimes criminal. As a result, Bar Counsel filed a petition for disciplinary action, alleging not only that respondent engaged in misconduct, but also that he was incompetent, i.e., unable to render adequate legal service by reason of a mental or physical illness or infirmity.
