The defendant, Ayishea Denson, appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a jury trial, of two counts of assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-59 (a) (1) and (2).1 On appeal, the defendant claims that (1) her conviction under subdivisions (1) and (2) of § 53a-59 (a) constitutes double jeopardy in violation of the fifth and fourteenth amendments to the United States constitution, and article first, § 8, of the constitution of Connecticut, (2) the prosecutor’s closing argument deprived her of a fair trial, and (3) the court’s…
