HOLLOWAY, Circuit Judge.

Plaintifi/Appellant/Cross-Appellee Julie Ellis (Ellis) brought this suit on August 25, 1995, against defendants in the United States District Court for the District of Kansas alleging violations of her rights under the First and Fourteenth Amendments and 42 U.S.C. §§ 1981, 1983, 1985 and 1988. On about August 30, 1995, the parties entered into a settlement agreement disposing of Ellis’s substantive claims.
