MEMORANDUM OPINION

KISER, Senior District Judge.

In this case, plaintiff LaVerne Schieszler moves for leave to amend her complaint to add three defendants, one of whom she previously dismissed from the case, and to assert a claim for punitive damages. The parties have briefed the issues fully and appeared for oral argument on November 22, 2002. The motion is therefore ripe for decision. For the reasons stated below, I grant plaintiffs motion to amend her com plaint with respect to the assertion of a claim for punitive damages.
