On August 13, 1984, appellee George Lucey (“claimant”) filed a claim petition seeking benefits due to injuries caused by his exposure to chemicals during the course of his employment with appellant Vy-Cal Plastics Corporation (“employer”). At a hearing before the Workers’ Compensation Judge (“WCJ”), claimant presented the medical testimony of two treating physicians who opined that his allergic reaction to chemicals at work had caused a staphyloccus bacterial infection.
