I. Introduction

Pending before the court is a motion for summary judgment (ECF No. 37) filed by defendants University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (“UPMC”) and Biotronics, Inc. (“Biotronics” and together with UPMC, “defendants”) pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 56 with respect to all claims asserted in the amended complaint (ECF No. 9) filed by plaintiff Sherrilynn Grosso (“Grosso” or “plaintiff’).
