MEMORANDUM OPINION
PAYNE, District Judge.
Patricia Cornwell, a world renowned author of crime novels, filed this action against local author Leslie Raymond Sachs, asserting claims of defamation and violations of the Lanham Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1125(a) and Virginia’s privacy statute, Va.Code Ann. § 8.01-40.
