I. INTRODUCTION
In January 1998, plaintiff Norwest Financial, Inc. (“Norwest”), an Iowa corporation, purchased an Argentine consumer finance company named Finvercon S.A. Compañía Financiera (“Finvercon”) from defendants Juan Carlos Fernández and Gustavo Carlos Lanzillotta, who remained with Finvercon as President and Vice President respectively. Within a few months, however, this once-promising business relationship turned sour.
